SEATTLE — Former LSU and current Seattle Mariners pitcher Kade Anderson has been named Minor League Baseball's Debut of the Year.

Anderson, who played in the minors for the Arkansas Travelers, also won the Minor League Pitching Prospect of the Year award. Both awards were given out at the Minor League Baseball Awards show that aired Monday on MLB Network.

Anderson started 18 times during his professional debut with the Travelers, going 10-1 with a 1.06 ERA in 93.1 innings with 135 strikeouts, 13 walks and a .147 opponent batting average. 

Anderson, who went pro after leaving LSU as the third overall draft pick in 2025 following a National Championship win, has since been moved up to the majors. On Aug. 22, Anderson made his MLB debut as the pitcher for the Travelers' MLB affiliate, the Seattle Mariners. 

In seven starts with the Mariners, Anderson went 2-2 with a 3.79 ERA, throwing 35.2 innings with 32 strikeouts and nine walks
