BATON ROUGE - Fire officials were called back to the scene of a fire at a $1 million home after it rekindled Thursday morning.

The original fire was reported just before 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of Crown Way. According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, the three-story home was under renovation and vacant at the time of the incident. Around 11:50 p.m., the blaze was considered under control.

At approximately 5:15 a.m., crews were re-dispatched to the Goodwood-area home as the fire rekindled.

Authorities say the house received heavy fire and smoke damage. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

Reports say the house was sold last month. The home is valued at about $1.2 million. Around $1,000,000 worth of damage was done.
