Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana offers seizure first aid training in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE — The Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana is holding seizure first aid and safety training classes to help people recognize the signs of a seizure.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, one in ten people will experience a seizure in their lifetime.
Stephanie Charles of the Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana explained why getting out into the community with these sessions matters.
"One in 26 people will be diagnosed with epilepsy and one in ten people will have a seizure in their lifetime," Charles said, "but yet, we're not talking about it so if we get out and we hold these sessions then we make it a safer community for people with epilepsy and we bring awareness."
