LIVONIA – Crews will be conducting fire hydrant flow tests on the Livonia water system north of U.S. 190 on Thursday, Pointe Coupee Fire District 4 announced on Wednesday.

Local officials have advised that residents may notice some discoloration of their water. 

"During this testing, residents may notice that their water becomes temporarily brown or discolored," officials warned online. "If this occurs, please allow your water to run for a few minutes until it clears."

The testing is necessary for the district to maintain a property insurance-related rating.
