WALKER – Buck Carroll Road is currently closed to through traffic due to a collapsed cross culvert, Livingston Parish authorities announced on Tuesday.

The road is expected to remain closed for approximately one to two weeks while crews work to replace the culvert and make the necessary roadway repairs.

Local authorities are urging locals to use Walker North Road as an alternate route and avoid the closure area while work is underway.

This culvert had already been identified for repair as part of the Better Roads Program. Because of its recent failure, that work will now be addressed immediately, according to parish authorities.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone's patience while our crews work to get Buck Carroll Road safely reopened as quickly as possible,” said Livingston Parish President Randy Delatte in a prepared statement.
