Body of missing fisherman found in Terrebonne Parish
HOUMA – Deputies in Terrebonne Parish said they found the body of a missing fisherman who went missing Tuesday.
Deputies found the body of 69-year-old Gary P. Crochet of Houma Wednesday afternoon after a two day search in Lake Decade in Terrebonne Parish.
According to Sheriff Jerry Larpenter, a local fisherman contacted deputies Tuesday who said he saw an empty boat on Lake Decade. The fisherman told deputies that earlier in the day he saw a man fishing on the same boat by himself.
Larpenter said TPSO Water Patrol deputies searched Lake Decade until Tuesday night but were unable to find Crochet.
