BAYOU VISTA — Bayou Vista Elementary School was put on lockdown Wednesday afternoon as deputies searched for three armed robbery suspects, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office said.

SMPSO said two suspects were already in custody as of 2:55 p.m., but a third was still on the run. He was taken into custody 30 minutes later. 

The school system said that all school buses and student drivers at Patterson High, Berwick High, Patterson Junior High School and Berwick Junior High School were held at their respective campuses until the situation was resolved. 

The sheriff's office said more information will be made available once the scene is processed.
