ST. GABRIEL — The Bayou Braud Bridge on Martin Luther King Parkway in East Iberville will close beginning Thursday.

The closure will begin at 8 a.m. and will last until Oct. 29 while the Bayou Braud Bridge is being replaced, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. The construction is a part of a larger effort to improve infrastructure throughout the parish.

Officials are recommending that residents plan ahead when making travel arrangements and plan for extra travel time as they find alternate routes during the closure.
