BAKER — A man accused of stabbing his father in January has a warrant out for his arrest after he cut off his ankle monitor and did not show up for a court hearing at the 19th JDC, court records say.

Jeremiah Gill, 22, was arrested on attempted first-degree murder charges for allegedly stabbing his father at a home in Baker on Jan. 16. His bond was set at $100,000.

On July 23, Gill's defense team filed a motion to have his bond reduced. His defense said that because Gill had no prior history of criminal activity, as well as a history of psychiatric issues, he should be allowed to have a reduced bond. The victim in the case, Gill's father, also planned on posting his son's bond, which Gill's attorneys said was another reason he should be given a decreased bond. 

"Mr. Gill's father plays an enormous role in making sure Mr. Gill gets out and gets the help he desperately needs," the motion read.

At a July 28 motions hearing, Gill's request was granted, reducing the bond to $25,000.

Gill was due back in court on Aug. 4, but was not present. Court records note that he "cut off his GPS ankle monitor and left treatment," both conditions of the reduced bond. 

A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest by Judge Fred Crifasi.
