BATON ROUGE - Police say a man arrested for an armed robbery at a Circle K in Baton Rouge earlier this month was busted after being identified by his own mother.
Tevin Gunter, 24, is charged with armed robbery. Investigators released surveillance video from the incident at a Circle K on Florida Blvd. According to an arrest report, Gunter's mom called police to tell them it was her son in the video.
Police say Gunter admits to stealing a carton of cigarettes, a bottle of liquor and $89.00 from the cash register but says he wasn't armed when he did so.
Gunter is also charged with Purse Snatching and Access Device Fraud for a separate incident at a Circle K on Airline Highway March 3rd where a woman claims Gunter stole her purse. Investigators say shortly afterward one of her checks was cashed at the bank, and Gunter's ID was used to make the transaction.
