BATON ROUGE - After two successful seasons at Woodlawn High, Brett Beard will take over Live Oak as the new head coach of the Eagles.
Beard guided the Panthers to back-to-back playoff appearances, and this past season led Woodlawn to a regular season win over Warren Easton, at the time the #1 team in the state in Class 4A.
Beard takes over an Eagles team that finished 4-6 in 2014.

CHICAGO - Still in control of their own playoff destiny, the New Orleans Saints played strong against the Chicago Bears Monday night, taking a 24-8 advantage into the fourth quarter.
Drew Brees threw two touchdown passes, and the Saints defense forced two turnovers to take command of the game at the break.
