Two Baton Rouge Police officers arrested in separate Livingston Parish cases

LIVINGSTON – A Baton Rouge Police officer was arrested on stalking charges by sheriff’s deputies in Livingston Parish, the WBRZ Investigative Unit learned.

Jeremy Kirst, 36, was booked into jail Monday and bonded out early Wednesday morning.

Baton Rouge Police said Kirst, a 15-year veteran of the force, was put on administrative leave.

Detectives said the arrest comes after deputies were called on three separate occasions for domestic disputes between Kirst and a woman: Once in September, again in December and most recently in January.

"We were called to handle disturbances involving the same estranged couple.  In September, nothing physical reported.  Only a verbal argument reported to us.  In December, we were called back out. The male was warned to stop contacting/harassing female.  On January 3, 2019, we were back again.  This time, male was refusing to leave.  He also blocked the driveway of the home with his vehicle," the sheriff's office said in its outline of the arrest.

Kirst was booked on stalking and domestic-related charges.

In an unrelated case, another Baton Rouge Police officer was also arrested by deputies in Livingston Parish this week.

Blake Bryant, 24, was arrested Monday night and released on bond.

Bryant is also on administrative leave the police department said.

Sources said Bryant is new to the Baton Rouge Police force.

The sheriff's office said Bryant chatted with an underage girl on a social networking app and that they had an "inappropriate relationship."  Sheriff's deputies said Bryant and the girl met in August of 2019.

There is "evidence to prove indecent behavior," the sheriff's office said.

Bryant is charged with indecent behavior with juvenile and posted a $25,000 bond.
