Teacher knocked out after intervening in fight

BATON ROUGE - A teacher at Tara High School was transported to the hospital with a head injury after getting involved in an altercation between two students Monday morning.

Authorities say one female student charged at another during an argument. The teacher stood in the way of the attack and was knocked down in the process.

The male teacher hit his head on the way down.

One female student is being charged with battery on a school teacher.
