Package theft caught on camera
BAKER - A thief is on the run after taking a FedEx-delivered package off a man's front porch.
Jeff Schiele says he noticed his property was missing Monday, after FedEx confirmed it was dropped off Saturday. At first, the man thought the package was delivered to the wrong home but after reviewing his surveillance footage, found that wasn't the case.
"I was like, wow, someone actually came up in my front yard and took the package," said Schiele.
Surveillance cameras watch as a white four-door Ford F-150 pickup truck reverses down Burgess Drive in Baker, and pulls into Schiele's driveway.
"It's like he lived here how he pull up in the yard," he said.
The surveillance video shows the man get out of the truck, walks around up to the steps and takes the package. He throws the box in the passenger window and backs down the driveway onto the street in the direction he came from.
The whole thing only takes a few seconds.
"It really wasn't that much, it's the principle of someone having that type of nerve to come up in your yard and take something that belongs to you," said Schiele.
The items in the package were valued at $35.
The man is described by Schiele as an African American male, heavy-set, and balding around 5'10" tall.
If anyone recognizes the man, call Baker Police.
