Mark Armstrong is a multi-media journalist for News 2 Louisiana. He joined the team in January of 2015. Mark conducts interviews, as well as shoots and edits his own video. He also supplies images of breaking news for the website and generates fresh story ideas daily.
Before coming to WBRZ, Mark worked at WXXV-TV in Gulfport, MS as a production assistant, an assignment editor and ultimately as a reporter specializing in spot-news and political reporting.
Mark graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a major in History and a minor in Classics in 2014. He also completed a four-year Machinist Apprenticeship at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS from 2002-2007.
In his final years of college, Mark decided he wanted to become a journalist after reading The Memoirs of a Foreign Correspondent. He loves being able to learn new things, meet new people, visit new places, and document important changes in our community everyday.
Mark was born in Houston, TX, but grew up in many places. With his father in the construction business, Mark and his family lived in many states including Mississippi, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, California and Texas.
Mark currently resides in Baton Rouge close to LSU's campus. He enjoys reading history books, playing video games, and going for long walks while listening to a good pod-cast.
