EBR Superintendent Forum tonight
BATON ROUGE- East Baton Rouge is making progress in the search for a new superintendent.
Warren Drake, the former superintendent in Zachary is the man they want for the job. Tonight, the board is expected to interview him.
At last week's meeting the board narrowed the field of prospects from ten to one, and Drake is the last man standing. He was a principal in East Baton Rouge and Zachary before becoming the superintendent of Zachary schools, a position he left to work for the State Department of Education.
The Baton Rouge school board believes he's the man for the job, and residents echoed that opinion.
"We need fresh ideas," said Baton Rouge resident, Jack Lewis. "The schools are our future and we need to have someone in here that can take control and meet everybody's need, especially the kids."
The public is welcome to attend Drake's interview tonight at 6 p.m. at the Instructional Resource Center, located at 1022 S. Foster Dr.
The final decision on Drake's employment will be made next month.
