BREC teen camp
BATON ROUGE- What should your kids do over the summer if they're too old for camp but too young for work?
Cheryl Michelet, BREC's communications director, stopped by 2une In this morning to tell us about a new summer program that will keep your teens busy.
BREC is trying out a brand new teen camp to give older kids a fun summer. The camp includes taking fun field trips around Louisiana to places like Hammond and New Orleans. The curriculum will be geared toward older kids to keep them active and learning throughout the summer.
The camp is for kids ages 13-15. You can register your kids for the camps on site. There will be two locations, one on Plank Rd. and the other at Flannery Park.
"It's rough because you don't want them staying home by themselves all summer," said Michelet. "This way we can keep them in structured activities in a very safe environment, and most of all, having fun."
To register your child for one of the teen camps it's $90 a week. For more information on these fun and exciting summer programs you can visit the BREC website or call (225)272-9200 ext. 571.
