BATON ROUGE - Authorities are looking for a man after he was spotted stealing a firearm and other valuables from a car parked in a Baton Rouge subdivision. 

According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, the man was seen leaving the scene of the burglary in the 10500 block of Spring Rose Drive last week. The sheriff's office says the man entered an unlocked vehicle and made off with a handgun, purse and several credit cards.

Several other burglaries have also been reported in the area.

The suspect is described as a black male with short hair, last seen wearing shorts and a long sleeve shirt.
