ZACHARY - The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a man and charged him with killing his former co-worker and ex-roommate.

David Matthew Lyon, 37, was arrested Monday and charged with 2nd Degree Murder.

Deputies used fingerprints found at the crime scene to identify him as the person who stabbed Stephen Kennedy, 62, to death at a home on Deer Creek Drive in Zachary.

Investigators found the body Sunday while performing a welfare check after someone reported they hadn't seen Kennedy in several days.

They found Kennedy's body in the bedroom. Based on its condition, investigators believe it had been there for awhile.

There were also signs of a struggle in the room, and the knife investigators say Lyon used in the murder was at the scene as well.

No word on a motive.
