HAMMOND - Two victims were robbed at gunpoint and left tied up in their hotel room at the La Quinta Inn & Suites at 42126 Veterans Avenue Monday morning.

Three suspects entered the room and held the victims at gunpoint before binding their wrists with zipties and covering their heads with pillow cases. The suspects stole several of the victims' belongings and destroyed the phones in the room before leaving, according to the Hammond Police Department.

Once the suspects left, a male victim managed to break free and escape from the second floor window. He then ran to a nearby business and called the police.

Hammond police activated a special response team and evacuated guests before searching the hotel. The hotel was later found to be safe and guests were allowed to return to their rooms.

Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of 21-year-old Bianco Barrow from Dallas, Georgia. Barrow was traveling with the two victims and is believed to have been one of the suspects in the robbery.

Two additional suspects have yet to be identified.

Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call Detective Lyel Newell with the Hammond Police Department at 985-277-5757 or newell_lk@hammond.org.
