PORT ALLEN - A driver and her young passengers were in a car hit by a train here Thursday night.

The crash happened at the crossing on Avenue A. Witnesses said the train clipped the rear of the vehicle.

Multiple law enforcement agencies and first responders were on the scene around 8:30.

A WBRZ crew on the scene was told the driver had a few kids in the vehicle. The driver was not identified and it was not clear if she will face charges.
