Three home runs give Lions 15-2 Southland victory

HAMMOND – The Southeastern Lions won its 17th straight Southland series victory Sunday, maintaining its lead in the standings.

Ryan Byers struck a grand slam in the first inning to lead the Lions charge to a 15-2 victory over Nicholls at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

Lion starting pitcher Domenick Carlini pitched his first career complete game to earn the win. He allowed one earned run on five hits, walked three and fanned a pair.

The Lions will travel to Tulane Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised on Cox Sports TV and available on ESPN3 outside the CST viewing area.
