DENHAM SPRINGS - For months, three dogs have been living alone in the backyard of a home, without supervision.

Residents tell News 2 the owner of the home, located on Hawks Cove, moved away months ago.

"I don't ever see anyone feeding them, giving them water, how are they getting their proper nutrition?" said Ashley Tingle, a neighbor.

The Department of Public Works says it has been in contact with the property owner and according to the department, the owner visits the pets daily to provide food and water.

Nevertheless, DPW issued a 24-hour notice of seizure this afternoon, ordering the property owner to take the dogs away.

If the order is not obeyed, the Livingston Animal Shelter will seize the dogs and if the owner does not claim them within five days, they will be put up for adoption.
