CLINTON – State Police say a Mississippi teenager was killed after an early morning crash in East Feliciana Parish Saturday.

According to Louisiana State Police, 19-year-old Cody Haygood was killed when his pickup truck went airborne and crashed into a tree at the intersection of LA 432 and LA 67 around 5 a.m.

Investigators say for some unknown reason Haygood did not stop at the intersection. LSP believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.

Haygood was wearing a seatbelt but still suffered fatal injuries from the crash. The East Feliciana Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced him dead at the scene.

LSP said a toxicology sample was taken at the scene and the crash still remains under investigation.
