BATON ROUGE – Subpoenas filed in the on-going investigation involving the head of the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging could help show the relationship between a deceased client and the higher-ups at the organization.

The subpoenas surround the Helen Plummer case where Council on Aging Board Member Dorothy Jackson drafted a will for Plummer, a 95-year-old client. The will named Executive Director Tasha Clark Amar as the executrix of the will. The will would have paid Clark Amar nearly $125,000 over the next 20 years.

The series of reports set off a firestorm and eventually, Clark Amar and Jackson backed out of the will. Though, state investigators are still looking into the original draft – done because Clark Amar said Plummer had a close relationship with her, and Plummer did not trust her family.

Among the subpoenas is one for Clark Amar's phone records to "determine the true relationships" between the three women.

Other subpoenas are for a Southern University investigation into Jackson, a university employee, and her role concerning the will. The investigation was the focus of the lawsuit filed by the two media outlets in August.

In addition, investigators subpoenaed employees at Plummer's bank to discuss her finances.

The subpoenas were filed over the last few months.
