NEW ORLEANS – State Police are currently searching for a stolen pickup truck and multiple persons of interests after someone opened fire on an unmarked State Police unit in New Orleans Friday.

According to Louisiana State Police, the shooting happened around 7 p.m. Friday after an unmarked LSP unit saw a black Chevrolet pickup truck driving erratically on Chef Menteur Hwy in New Orleans East.

Troopers confirmed that the truck was stolen from a home in Laplace, La. and followed the truck into a nearby neighborhood where one suspect shot at the trooper’s vehicle.

State Police said the unmarked unit was struck several times and the three officers inside had minor injuries. Troopers did not return fire and the truck fled the area.

Investigators are currently looking for the 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck with a La. license plate C183499 and two black males wanted for questioning in connection to the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call Louisiana State Police Troop B at 504-471-2775.
