BATON ROUGE - Police are investigating a shooting after a person was found with a gunshot Wednesday night.

Baton Rouge Police responded to Birth Street, just off Plank around 9:10 Wednesday. One person was shot there, a police spokesperson said.

Investigators could not release where the person had been hit. Police originally said the victim was expected to survive, but Thursday morning his injuries were upgraded to life-threatening.

Police said the shooter had not been taken into custody yet.
