17-year-old struck, killed by train in LaPlace
LAPLACE - One person was struck and killed by a train in LaPlace Monday night, according to authorities.
The incident took place before 8:00 p.m. near Sleepy Redwood Street in St. John the Baptist Parish. Authorities say the victim was found dead after reportedly being struck by a train.
WWL-TV reports the victim is a 17-year-old male. The teen was reportedly trying to cross the railroad tracks before the train passed and did not make it, according to St. John the Baptist Sheriff Mike Tregre.
