BATON ROUGE - The Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) is investigating a homicide that occurred at the District Night Club, which is adjacent to the Belle of Baton Rouge casino.

BRPD says 31-year-old Fondrell Payne was stabbed in the chest when a group fight broke out inside the nightclub. 

After being rushed to a local hospital, Payne died as a result of his injuries.

Police say they have not detained any suspects at this time, but will continue to investigate the incident.
