Nicholson Drive at Brightside to get new left-turn signals
BATON ROUGE- The City-Parish unveiled plans to change a traffic signal operation at the busy intersection of Nicholson Drive and Brightside Drive with West Lee Drive.
The intersection will soon include left-turn arrows for Nicolson with the change made to both the north and southbound directions.
According to Chief Traffic Engineer Ingolf Partenheimer, the changes will be monitored over a 30-day period to determine if they will help until more extensive improvements are made to the heavily trafficked intersection under Mayor-President Melvin “Kip” Holden’s Green Light Program (GLP).
The GLP intersection project, which is slated to begin next year, will include left-turn lanes and additional through lanes which should help the intersection significantly, Partenheimer said.
