BATON ROUGE – A vehicle title was removed from a car after a series of apparent smash-and-grabs near LSU Wednesday morning.

Police were dispatched to the parking lot surrounding Fieldhouse Condominiums around nine o'clock. Victims told WBRZ windows of a handful of cars were broken and in one case, a vehicle title was taken and left in another vehicle.  Police suspect burglars were after cash or possibly weapons left in vehicles.

Burglars left behind presents and other items, though, victims told WBRZ.

The parking lot is near the corner of Nicholson and W Chimes Street at the entrance to LSU.
