LIVONIA - A couple was booked into jail on child sex charges, the WBRZ Investigative Unit learned Friday.

Authorities said a man was raping his live-in girlfriend's daughter.  The abuse happened over the course of nine years, police said the victim reported.  Authorities remained tight-lipped about the case when contacted for information by WBRZ Friday, although the Livonia Police Chief said the victim reported the crime herself.

Damien Kimble, 35, was charged with aggravated rape, molestation and carnal knowledge of a juvenile.  His live-in girlfriend and mother of the victim was charged with principal to molestation and indecent behavior of a juvenile.  WBRZ has made an editorial decision not to identify the woman facing charges in this case in an effort to protect the victim's identity, although editors thought it important to explain the relationship between the woman charged in the case and the victim.

Detectives said when the abuse started, the victim was under 13-years-old.
In arrest documents, police wrote the mother of the victim made the girl sleep in the bed with the woman and Kimble naked, repeatedly beat the child and allowed Kimble to fondle the girl while the couple was having sex.  Police also said the woman repeatedly beat her daughter.
Kimble remains in jail.  The woman posted a $30,500 bond and was released.

Police said the investigation is still on-going.
