Man stabs father after heated argument
BATON ROUGE- Police arrested a man they say stabbed his own father with a kitchen knife in October.
Officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 3000 block of Evangeline Street in reference to a male victim being stabbed. The incident occurred on Oct. 8.
At the scene officers found the victim suffering from an approximate one-inch laceration on his left bicep and a small cut on his lip. The victim told authorities he and his son were involved in a verbal altercation when things turned violent. The son was identified as James Randolph Jr.
According to the affidavit, Randolph Jr. became very angry during the verbal altercation and went to the kitchen to grab a knife. The victim advised that his son stabbed him then punched him in the mouth causing the cut on his lip.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment for his stab wound.
Randolph Jr. was charged with aggravated battery.

Authorities learned that Randolph Jr. had been previously arrested for several charges including simple battery, attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
