SLIDELL - Deputies have arrested a woman accused of fatally stabbing her live-in companion during a domestic dispute Saturday.

According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance in the 100 block of Seville Court around 9 a.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 37-year-old Rondy Vernon had suffered a stab wound to the chest.

Vernon was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

The subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of 31-year-old Michelle Adams, Vernon's long-time live-in companion.

She was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on one count of manslaughter.

The sheriff's office says Vernon and Adams lived at the residence with their three children, who were at home at the time of the incident. The children are now in the care of family members.
