BATON ROUGE- A second man was arrested after a Monday night shooting on Hanks Drive.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office initially arrested 23-year-old Jeron Durroh for attempted second-degree murder after a Monday night shooting on Hanks Drive and have now arrested 30-year-old Brock Williams in connection with the shooting as well.

Monday around 9:30 p.m., EBRSO Uniform Patrol Deputies responded to the 6600 block of Hanks Drive in reference to a “shooting investigation.”

Deputies found a 34-year-old victim at a nearby business suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to an area hospital by EMS and is expected to survive, according to the EBRSO.

Detectives learned that both Durroh and the victim were at a home earlier in the night.

Durroh and Williams offered to drive the victim home. The victim accepted the offer and once the victim arrived, he got out of the car and began walking towards his home.

Williams called the victim back to the car and multiple gun shots were fired at him from the passenger side of the car, according to the EBRSO.

After struck by gunfire, the victim ran to a nearby business to get help.

Homicide Detectives located a witness who said that Durroh and the victim had a verbal altercation earlier that night and also saw Durroh with a handgun shortly before the shooting.

Detectives also learned that Durroh was dating a relative of the victim at the time of the shooting.

Both the victim and the witness identified Durroh, who they had been knowing for nine months.

Durroh was arrested on charges of attempted second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.

Williams was later identified in a line-up by the victim as well. Williams was found at his place of employment and agreed to be questioned by Homicide Detectives where he admitted to being in the car before the shooting, but denied that he was present at the time of the shooting.

Williams was charged with principals, attempt, and second-degree murder.
