BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies in East Baton Rouge Parish said they arrested a man after he stabbed his domestic partner with a kitchen knife repeatedly.

38-year-old Dearon Jones, of Baton Rouge, was booked on charges of aggravated second-degree battery and simple battery following the incident early Sunday morning.

EBRSO deputies said they responded to a domestic dispute in the 10000 block of Alco Ave. around 1:30 a.m. When they arrived, the victim informed them that her partner became angry at her for talking to neighbors in the apartment complex parking lot.

The victim told deputies that when Jones got her back to their apartment, he grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her multiple times. Investigators said she had a total of 10 wounds in her left thumb, left middle finger, left side of her jaw, abdomen, both left and right side of her neck and left shoulder.

The victim was taken to the Our Lady of the Lake and treated for the non-life threatening injuries. Jones later told deputies that the victim attacked him with a knife, but he later retracted this statement, telling investigators that he was "blacked out" when he made the accusation.
