LSU baseball drops series at Ole Miss
OXFORD, Miss. – The LSU Tigers were only able to put up 2 runs in Saturday's loss to Ole Miss in Oxford.
The Tigers drop to 28-16 overall and 11-10 in the Southeastern Conference.
In an interview after the game, LSU head coach Paul Mainieri was clearly frustrated.
“It seemed like we had chances in every inning," Mainieri said. "We had bases-loaded situations and runners in scoring position with no outs. We had a lot of hits; we just couldn’t get the hits when it mattered."
Mainieri said the team's focus is on the final 12 games of the regular season, starting with Arkansas next weekend.
LSU returns to Alex Box Stadium Friday to host the Razorbacks in game one of a three-game SEC series. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
