BATON ROUGE- LSU announced that its athletic department will host a block party on North Stadium Drive prior to kickoff of the National L Club Spring Game next Saturday.

The LSU Football Block Party will start at 1 p.m. on Apr. 16 and will feature local bands Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. and the Zydeco Twisters along with carnival activities for kids.

There will be a dunking booth, inflatables and food.

Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. and the Zydeco Twisters will play from 1:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on North Stadium Drive at the bottom of Victory Hill.

The party will also feature giveaways from partners of the LSU Athletic Department.

Entry forms for the giveaway will be at Baton Rouge area McDonald’s, T.J. Ribs, Tio Javi’s, Academy Sport + Outdoor, and select Chevron gas stations.

Fans will be able to submit their entry forms as they enter the stadium for the spring game on April 16.

Prizes include 18 Tony Chachere’s prize packs, four $100 gift cards from Tio Javi’s and $50 gift cards to LSUshop.net.

Tickets to LSU sporting events will also be given away.

Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Tiger Stadium and admission is free.

The game will be broadcasted on the LSU Sports Radio Network and on 104.5 and 104.9 FM as well as  on www.LSUsports.net/live. The game will also be broadcasted on the SEC Network.
