Lafayette man dies in accidental shooting

LAFAYETTE- A 21-year-old man has died from injuries sustained in an overnight shooting in Lafayette. The victim is identified as Colin Norwood, 21, of Baton Rouge.
Lafayette police said they were called to an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Bertrand Drive for reports of an accidental shooting.
When they arrived, police said they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to the hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Detectives are currently interviewing a second 21 year old who was in the apartment at the time of the shooting. The cause of the shooting remains under investigation.
