BATON ROUGE - Investigators with both the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office and Baton Rouge Police Department are looking into a pair of burglaries with striking similarities.

Tuesday morning, BRPD for help identifying a man they say robbed the Exxon Station in the 5200 block of Highland Road. The suspect entered armed with a knife and demanded money from the clerk. He obtained an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.

A clerk at a neighboring gas station told News 2, the suspect comes in all the time.

"When I look at the picture, I said 'oops, I know this guy,'" Mahin Fini explains. "He's a regular customer, basically comes in to get his cigarettes or drink or something."

Police describe the suspect as a white male, about 6 ft. tall wearing blue work pants, a purple LSU sweatshirt and a baseball hat.

That description is identical to that of an armed robbery suspect who hit a CVS on Burbank Drive Sunday. EBRSO says the man entered the store, pulled out a knife, handed the cashier a note and demanded money.

The Sheriff's Office believes both agencies are after the same guy.

"I would say we're fairly confident this is the same person," EBRSO spokeswoman Casey Hicks told News 2's Brittany Weiss. "We can tell by the photographs and the clothing that he's wearing."
