BATON ROUGE – After a no hitter for nearly seven innings, No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats finally put one run on the board to defeat No. 8 LSU 1-0 Saturday at Tiger Park.

LSU’s Carley Hoover halted the Kentucky bats for most of the day, striking out 10 and walking three. Hoover struck out the first batter in each of the first five innings.

“I think (Carley) did an incredible job, and we will take away some great things for her in the future," head coach Beth Torina said.

The Tigers will be back at it again tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Tiger Park.
