PORT ALLEN- The polls have opened in West Baton Rouge and voters here are being asked if they want to recall the mayor.

Voters will be asked if they want to recall Mayor Deedy Slaughter. If voters approve the recall, the mayor would be removed from office and a special election will be held to elect a mayor. Slaughter would be able to run in the election.

Other voters in the area are voting on a person to fill a vacancy in Washington, D.C. The 5th Congressional District is up for grabs after the Congressman who held the position quit to take a job in state government.

Also, voters in West Feliciana will elect the first-ever Parish President. Two people made the runoff since the form of government was changed.

For election results, check WBRZ.com beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday and watch the late edition of WBRZ News 2 at 10:00.
