LAFAYETTE - A furniture business based out of Lafayette, Louisiana has announced a large donation to aid the Harvey relief effort in Texas.

The Home Furniture Company says it is donating $100,000 to help those affected by Harvey and the ensuing floods. The company says it will work closely with the American Red Cross through coordination efforts of local agencies and organizations to meet the needs of those most affected by the overwhelming flooding in our region.

“We are deeply saddened by the devastating floods in Texas and the catastrophic impact it’s having on our neighbors and members of our communities”, said Tony Kemp, president of Home Furniture. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been affected by this major event."
Several employees have also assisted in the cleanup effort following the storm and have also made their own individual donations. Home furniture has locations along the Gulf Coast including Nederland and Beaumont, Texas, the latter of which was hit hard by the storm.
The company made a similar donation last year, to assist those affected by the August floods in the Baton Rouge area.
