BATON ROUGE- People were evacuated from Dean Tower, the 14-story building just east of the intersection of North Foster and Florida Blvd. Friday evening.

Witnesses said there was a man inside who police wanted to get out of the building, and was not complying with the demands of officers on the scene.

At some point during the ordeal, the fire alarm was triggered and people rushed out of the building.

There was a dramatic scene outside as police and other emergency responders filled the parking lot of the building, flashing blue lights illuminating the darkness of the area.

Sources tell WBRZ News 2, one person was taken into custody connected to the ordeal. Police have not released any official information.
