Gonzales voters re-elect Mayor Barney Arceneaux
GONZALES – Voters have decided to re-elect Mayor of Gonzales Barney Arceneaux rather than choosing new leadership for the role.
The two candidates, both Democrats, in the race were Mayor Barney Arceneaux and Councilman Terance Irvin.
Arceneaux has been serving as mayor of the city since January 2009. Irvin was first elected to the council in 2000 and was also chosen as mayor pro tem that same year.
