GONZALES - Garcon Road in Ascension Parish will be shut down for the next several weeks as crews do drainage work on the roadway.

According to parish officials, the road will be shut down north of Gonzales starting Nov. 27 through the following four weeks. The bridge over the drainage canal is planned to be replaced with box culverts for better drainage. 

Traffic on the south side of bridge will exit on to Highway 621, while traffic on north side of bridge will need to exit through Bourque Road.
