BATON ROUGE - The man accused of kidnapping and strangling a Baton Rouge couple in October may soon be back in Louisiana.

The extradition process for the man accused of kidnapping and strangling a Baton Rouge couple in October has moved forward Wednesday.

Florida Governor Rick Scott signed a warrant for 42-year-old Ernesto Llerena Alonso Wednesday morning.

A hearing has been set in Florida for Alonso for Nov. 19.

On Oct. 29, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal signed and sent a requisition for rendition to Scott requesting the extradition of Alonso back to Louisiana.

Alonso, who is currently in jail in Florida, is accused of the murder of Denis and Suzanne Duplantier, who were found beaten to death at a truck stop near Hammond in October. The couple employed Alonso as a handyman, and he did various odd jobs for the Duplantiers on their property.
