DENHAM SPRINGS - Detectives in Livingston Parish say a Denham Springs Police officer was arrested Tuesday after a domestic battery incident involving his former wife.

According to Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard, deputies arrested 30-year-old Landon Blake Groger for one count of misdemeanor domestic abuse battery. Ard said the alleged physical abuse occurred between May and June 2015.

"We were furnished with a compact disc. This disc contained photos and an audio conversation between Mr. Groger and his former wife,” Sheriff Jason Ard said. “This was used as evidence to make the arrest.”

Ard said Groger turned himself in to detectives Tuesday.

Denham Springs Mayor Gerard Landry asked Ard to conduct an internal affairs investigation into the matter.

“This is a serious matter and will be treated as such,” Landry said. “Know that this will be investigated thoroughly.”

Deputies say Groger bonded out of the Livingston Parish Detention Center Wednesday on $1,500 bond. Ard said the investigation is still ongoing.
