Curfew for Ascension Parish lifted for residents

ASCENSION – The curfew for Ascension Parish has been lifted for residents, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.

The curfew was originally put in place from dusk until dawn, but did not include in the west side of Ascension Parish.

According to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office, the curfew was put into effect for the safety of residents as a precautionary measure.

However, if the need arises to re-institute the curfew, the parish will do so. According to parish officials, lifting the curfew will help generate commerce to aid the recovery efforts in the parish.
