BATON ROUGE - Early Monday morning, Baton Rouge Police Department has opened an investigation into an attempted robbery that may have resulted in a self-inflected gunshot wound.

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 2700 block of Scenic Hwy.

According to a BRPD spokesperson, the investigation remains ongoing and information in this shooting is preliminary.
